ART + CULTURE: Franck Bohbot documents New York’s most culturally diverse Barbershops

Photography: Franck Bohbot
Words: Alex Mascolo

In 2014, Franck Bohbot spent a year documenting New York’s various barbershops, and the owners that have made them into institutions. Titled Cuts, the photo series documents both the interiors and owners of these establishments, captured by Bohbot in rare moments of peace and quiet. Depicted in their shops, the barbers become the focus of these traditional refuges, communities for both the young and old.
