What is your favourite era for hair? Definitely the 20s. For me this era was the real emancipation of women’s hair. The iconic 20s bob haircut that Coco Chanel wore… that was a really significant change.
What is the most challenging aspect of your profession? You have to learn the technical aspects, then let them go. It’s vital to learn to work instinctively, and work on your creativity; that’s when you find your own signature.
What is the most valuable lesson you have learnt during your career? I’ve learnt that every single person has their own beauty, their own power, you just need to find it and reveal it to the world.
How did you get into hairdressing? My grandfather was a hairdresser in Nice, the French Riviera, where he worked with the 60s movie stars. I’ve always admired him, and would help him every Wednesday in his atelier. He taught me so many precious things in hairdressing.
What inspires you? So many different things… everything from Marvel to Marie Antoinette, Punks to Fairy Tales, African tribes and 80s pop stars.
