ART+CULTURE: The world’s most famous paintings receive a hirsute makeover from illustrator Murat Yildirim

Vincent van Gogh, The Starry Night

Some of the world’s most recognisable artworks now have their very own furry doppelgängers, courtesy of art director and illustrator Murat Yildirim. Using Cinema 4D, the Istanbul-based creative has crafted digital versions of some of the world’s most beloved masterpieces, reimagined in satisfying swirls of thick bristly fur. The tactile surface leaves you itching to reach out and give them a stroke, an impulse which may soon be made possible given Yildirim’s plans to recreate the pieces for real using synthetic fur. With an exhibition in the works (exact date, of course, to be confirmed), it promises to be something to look forward to. Watch this space.

Edvard Munch, The Scream
Leonardo da Vinci, Mona Lisa
Johannes Vermeer, Girl with a Pearl Earring
Salvador Dalí, The Persistence of Memory
