ART + CULTURE: Hair reigns supreme in this collaborative project between hairdresser Marina Roy and photographer Albert Plehov

An ongoing project between Marina Roy and Albert Plehov, The Art of Hair is an ethereal collection of portraits, stripped down to just two elements – model and hair. “The idea is that there are no clothes, no make-up and no ambience. Only the hair,” Roy explains. The duo started the project two years ago, as a means of challenging themselves creatively outside of their day-to-day work – largely advertising campaigns and editorials. The Art of Hair serves as the antithesis to their commercial bread and butter, pushing them to produce creative, improvised work for the joy of it.
